One misconception is that Humans living with asthma are unable to enjoy the same physical activities as those without asthma. This is false. Humans with asthma are as able as anyone to physically succeed. Consider the following athletes who all have asthma; Jerome Bettis, Jackie Joyner Kersey, Isaiah Thomas, Amy VanDyken and Dennis Rodman.
When treated and properly managed, one can live a healthy life with minimal complications from the disease. FiveHumans is committed to raising awareness, and erasing ignorance one Human at a time, but we need your help. Our “Treat, Manage, Live” t-shirt was not designed only for Humans with asthma. As with all our gear, it is intended for Humans everywhere to treat their mind with knowledge, manage their awareness, and live to give back.
Asthma is a reversible obstructive lung disease, which can be life-threatening if not properly managed. Close to 1.8 million emergency room visits were attributed to asthma in 2005 which accounts for a portion of the over $19 billion dollars spent annually on asthma related health care.
There is a lot to be taught, and a fight to be fought. Help do your part.
