Seattle, Washington., - March 30th , 2008 – FiveHumans™, a company with the self appointed task of curing ignorance through hip, fashionable clothing, adds Autism as their newest supportive cause.
Having launched just five months ago, FiveHumans™ is off to a productive start. “The traffic to our site has been overwhelming. People are embracing our concept and eager to jump aboard, and be advocates.” said FiveHumans™ co-founder, Nicole Fine. Aside from influencing thought, and educating minds, FiveHumans™ is committed to raising money for their partnered organizations through hip designs on fashionable T-shirts as their vehicle to ignite change.
With no known cause, or cure, Autism has quickly become an epidemic in the United States. 1 in 150 young Humans are diagnosed, which is more than children diagnosed with Cancer, Diabetes, and Aids combined. “Shockingly, insurance companies do not cover the much needed therapy sessions, that can hugely impact the lives of children with Autism.” said Nicole.
With April being National Autism Month, FiveHumans™ has designed a unique t-shirt highlighting statistical facts about the disease. “It is our duty, as Humans, to increase knowledge and spread awareness about Autism, so we can educate each other and influence the way insurance companies and our government aught to recognize the disease.” adds Nicole.
In addition to adding Autism as their newest cause, FiveHumans™ launched a new feature on their site called, “My Story”, which will showcase stories of Humans affected by a particular disease or cause in some shape or form, and provide a rare glimpse into the lives of fellow Humans and their experiences. “Our intention with “My Story” is to have Humans sharing with Humans.” adds Shelby King, FiveHumans™ co-founder. These stories will be recorded and streamed on FiveHumans.com, so site goers can watch, learn, and share with each other.
